ASEM 4 confirms commitment of ASEM partners to strengthen and broaden the scope of its three pillar structure. Notably, the concept of a "Dialogue on Cultures and Civilizations" will be utilized to focus discussions on the international security situation (especially in combating the root causes of terrorism), regional developments, globalization and human resources development. It was held in Copenhagen, on September 22-24, 2002. Participants included the Heads of State and Government of the 25 countries participating in the ASEM process, and President Romano Prodi of the European Commission. The conclusions of the meeting are summarised in a Chairman's Statement, in the Declaration on Cooperation against International Terrorism, in the Cooperation Programme on Fighting International Terrorism, and in the Political Declaration for Peace on the Korean Peninsula.
