Reporting to Finance Ministers, a Finance Deputies' Meeting (SOM) has been held at irregular intervals. The first Meeting was in London on 5 February 1998, the second in Vienna on 18 December 1999, the third in Paris on 14 September 2000 and the fourth in Tokyo on 15 December 2000.

For coordination purposes, ASEM finance officials also meet regularly at a "Core Group Meeting", held in Washington on the margins of the spring and autumn WB / IMF meetings
