ASEM Foreign Ministers' Meeting (FMM) is held bi-annually after being considered necessary and its establishment is part of the conclusion of ASEM 1. In addition to pursuing the ASEM dialogue under the first and third pillars (political dialogue, cooperation in other areas), the Foreign Ministers Meeting is also responsible for the overall coordination of the ASEM process.

The followings are the meetings held so far:

  1. The first Foreign Ministers' Meeting was held in Singapore on 15 February 1997
  2. The second Foreign Ministers' Meeting was held in Berlin, Germany on 28-29 March 1999
  3. The third Foreign Ministers' Meeting was held in Beijing, China on 24-25 May 2001
  4. The fourth Foreign Minister's Meeting was held in Madrid, Spain on 6-7 June 6-7 2002
  5. The fifth Foreign Minister's Meeting was held in Bali, Indonesia on 22-24 July 2003
  6. The sixth Foreign Minister's Meeting was held in Kildare, Ireland on 17-18 April 2004
  7. The seventh Foreign Minister's Meeting was held in Kyoto, Japan on 6-7 May 2005
  8. The eighth Foreign Ministers' Meeting was held in Hamburg, Germany on 28-29 May 2007
