At the global level, ASEM works together with other existing inter-regional processes such as the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) and Forum for East Asia-Latin America Cooperation (FEALAC). ASEM also works with global organization like the World Trade Organization (WTO) to work on Regional Trade Agreements to Trade Facilitation and related issues. In line with the United Nations principles, ASEM also carries out projects and initiatives to promote multilateralism.
