  • 3rd ASEM Labour and Employment Ministers' Conference

    The ASEM Labour and Employment Ministers’ Conference aims to exchange views and experiences between Labour and Employment Ministers of the ASEM member countries. The third meeting will be hosted by the Dutch Ministry of Labour and Social Policy in Leiden, the Netherlands and will be co-sponsored by the European Commission. The third ASEM LEMC will build on the achievements of the ASEM dialogue in the employment and social area, and will focus on how to turn the financial and economic crisis into an opportunity for creating jobs and strengthening social development at the global level.     The 9th ASEM Finance Ministers' Meeting was held in Madrid, Spain on 17-18 April 2010. The meeting discussed how Asia and Europe have been affected by the global downturn, the measures taken by ASEM members, the current uneven improvements in economies, and possible exit strategies from various stimulus packages enacted during the recent financial crisis.
