Indonesia is pleased to host the 9th ASEM Conference on Counter-Terrorism in Yogyakarta, 12-13 December 2011 under the heading "improving community counter-terrorism initiatives".

The Conference will focus on strategic issues related to the involvement of the community in counter-terrorism, including national policy coherence and the role of new media to ensure effective counter-terrorism approach.

The Conference will aim to produce a Chair Summary with recommendations for the ASEM9 Summit in 2012. Target of participants for this Conference is official representatives, experts, practitioners, and think tanks from ASEM Partners respective countries.
